FAQ: Install Add-In After Download FAQ: TreePlan Decision Tree Add-In FAQ: SensIt Sensitivity Analysis Add-In FAQ: RiskSim Monte Carlo Simulation Add-In Be sure to specify an email address where the confirmation email message from SWReg will not be blocked a firewall or antivirus software. Within minutes after you finish purchasing at SWReg's web site, SWReg will send a confirmation message to the email address you specified when you purchased. In the lower third of that email message there will be a URL internet link where you can download the software. The download link will expire after 96 hours (4 days) from the time of purchase, so be sure to download the software immediately. In most email clients, e.g., Outlook Express and Eudora, you can click that link and the download will begin. Otherwise, you can copy the URL internet link from the email message and paste it into a web browser, e.g., Internet Explorer or Mozilla. If the link is so long that it wraps around onto another line in your email client, you may have to copy and paste the two segments. The download file has an EXE extension, denoting that it is an executable file. To download the EXE file, you may have to temporarily disable your firewall or antivirus software. After you download the EXE file, double-click it to extract the XLA, XLS, and PDF files. On a Macintosh, use Smith Micro's free StuffIt Expander to extract the zipped files from the EXE file. FAQ: Install Add-In After Download Launch Excel, and use Excel's File Open command to load the add-in XLA file or the example XLS file. Do not double-click the add-in XLA file to load the file. Some of the add-in code may not be executed properly if you double-click the file. Instead, use Excel's File Open command. Do not try to try to load the EXE file. Refer to the first pages of the user guide PDF file for other ways to load the XLA add-in file. FAQ: TreePlan Decision Tree Add-In If you encounter error messages using TreePlan, please download a Tryout version of TreePlan that is appropriate for some non-U.S. English versions of Excel. To do so, right-click tree164t.xla and save. The shortcut key for tree164t.xla is Ctrl + t (instead of Ctrl + Shift + t for tree170t.xla). If you encounter error messages using TreePlan after you purchase TreePlan via SWReg, send e-mail to Mike Middleton, and I will send you TreePlan 1.64 that is appropriate for some non-U.S. English versions of Excel. TreePlan 1.70 uses Control+Shift+T as the shortcut key. Previous versions of TreePlan used Control+t. TreePlan is written in XLM (Excel 4 Macro Language). Due to a limitation in that macro language, when you use TreePlan's Select feature, there is a limit of approximately twenty nonadjacent selections. FAQ: SensIt Sensitivity Analysis Add-In There are no known issues with SensIt 1.31. FAQ: RiskSim Monte Carlo Simulation Add-In There are no known issues with RiskSim 2.40. After you purchase and download the EXE file from SWReg, use Smith Micro's free StuffIt Expander to extract the zipped files from the EXE file. If you have a problem extracting the XLA file from the EXE file you downloaded from SWReg, please send e-mail to Mike Middleton, and we will send the appropriate uncompressed XLA file(s) to you as an email attachment. When you launch Excel and load one of our single-file add-ins, the add-in code detects whether it is running on a Windows or Macintosh, and the add-in then displays dialog boxes that are appropriately sized.
